My Story

I was born and raised in Tempe, Arizona, and I proudly identify as a first-generation, low-income Mexican student and QuestBridge Scholar. I’ve developed a deep passion for science, particularly in chemistry. Molecular geometry fascinates me, and I hope to conduct research in this area one day, contributing to the understanding of how molecules interact and influence life on a fundamental level.

I joined SACNAS+ because I believe in the power of community, especially in spaces where underrepresented individuals, like myself, can come together to share experiences, support one another, and bridge the gap between our communities and the STEM field. Connecting with others who share my love for science and advocacy for diversity has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I’m excited to continue making an impact.

When I’m not planning events, you can usually find me enjoying a burrito bowl from Chipotle—definitely my go-to comfort food. A fun fact about me is I’m a trumpet player in the Mariachi Leones de Columbia, and I absolutely love music. My favorite way to unwind in the city is to escape to nature whenever I can, whether it’s a quick hike or a trip to a nearby park to clear my mind.
